Woah- History of the Bristish Isles

Great documentary on the "pre-history" of the

At 43:22, this guy says what I have been thinking for a while. I knew it must have been out there before. Why does no one talk about this?

We only have what we remember.

"Look at our buildings. Our heroes. The way we work ourselves into the ground. The dark history of our imperialism. We begin to look like the daughters and sons of Rome. But we are not.

Being invaded by the Romans had a terrible effect. Not just on how we view our own history, but how we developed as a nation. We've come to believe that the roman colonizing of this nation was a civil act, when it fact, it was a brutal suppression. It's hardly surprising we did the same things to countries in Africa, Asia and the America's two thousand years latter.

It's time we let go of our Roman inheritance, and embraced our real heritage."

"I'm 45th generation Roman...."
